Skin Booster

What is Skin Booster Injection?

Also known as “Water Light Microneedling”, the medical term is Intradermal Injection.
In simple terms, it involves using a negative pressure injector to deliver a solution—based on non-crosslinked, small-molecule hyaluronic acid—into the dermis.

-How It Works-

Skin boosters work by delivering hyaluronic acid into the dermis layer using mesotherapy techniques, hydrating the skin from within, improving fine lines, and restoring elasticity.

-Treatment-

Typically, a course consists of one session per month for three months. After completing a course, the effects are more stable and longer-lasting. With good maintenance, results can last even longer.

-Pre-Treatment Notes-

  • Try to avoid scheduling treatments during your menstrual period—bruising may fade more slowly, and sensitivity to pain may increase.

  • Some individuals may be allergic to topical anaesthetics, so be sure to inform your doctor before treatment.

  • People who are pregnant, have keloid-prone skin, or are taking specific medications (e.g., for systemic diseases or blood-thinning drugs) are not ideal candidates.

  • Always consult your doctor beforehand to prevent any unnecessary complications.

-Post-Treatment Care-

  • Medical-grade calming masks and LED light therapy are typically used for recovery. Most people recover well after a few days and can return to their usual skincare routine.

  • Avoid water exposure, spicy food, seafood, alcohol, and smoking immediately after the procedure.

  • For one week after treatment, stay well-hydrated and consider using medical-grade sheet masks. Sun protection is essential.

-Skin Booster FAQ-

Q1: What’s the difference between Hyaluronic Acid Injections, Skin Boosters, and Whitening Drips?

Different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid serve different purposes.

  • Skin Boosters use small-molecule HA combined with nutrients for brightening, anti-aging, and acne reduction.

  • Dermal fillers use medium- or large-molecule HA to fill and sculpt facial contours.

  • Whitening Drips (IV infusions) typically contain glutathione and Vitamin C, and can be combined with skin boosters for enhanced whitening results.

Q2: Can I get Skin Boosters in the UK? How does it compare to China?

Absolutely. The UK offers various brands and options for skin boosters, targeting concerns like pigmentation, acne, and fine lines.

  • Clinics use products certified by EU and UK regulatory bodies, ensuring product safety.

  • Only licensed UK medical professionals are allowed to perform injections, which generally ensures higher safety and professional standards compared to some clinics in China.

Q3: What brands are available in the UK?

Approved and commonly used products include:

  • Filorga NCTF135

  • Cytocare 532

  • Surface White & Surface Meso

  • BCN Melano

  • TEOSYAL Meso

  • Restylane Skinboosters

Depending on your needs:

  • BCN Melano for whitening/pigmentation

  • TEOXANE + Revitacare for hydration and glow
If you're a fan of Filorga's “Super Mask”, you’ll be pleased to know they also offer a skin booster.

Q4: How long do the results last? How often should I get it?

It varies per person and product. Generally, results last from a few weeks to several months.
One full course usually consists of 3 sessions spaced at least 2 weeks apart.

Q5: Are there any side effects or risks?

Clinical studies show almost no side effects. The primary ingredient—hyaluronic acid—is identical to what the body produces, so there’s no risk of rejection.
Some sensitive skin types may experience temporary redness.

  • Avoid facial massage, cleansing, or treatments within 48 hours.

  • Refrain from spicy food, seafood, and alcohol.
⚠️ Important: Do thorough research and avoid unlicensed clinics. These often lack access to regulated products and trained staff, risking poor quality or incorrect dosing, which can lead to serious skin damage or disfigurement. Reputable medical aesthetic clinics with proper licenses ensure safe and professional treatment.

Q6: Who is it suitable for? Is there an ideal age group?

Skin boosters are ideal for anyone seeking hydrated, glowing skin:

  • Women in their early 20s for preventative care

  • Those in their 30s+ starting anti-aging routines

  • 40+ individuals looking for hydration and fine-line reduction
